“Love of the Desert” Companion Social, Entertainment & Recreation Blog

Palm Springs Area "Love of the Desert TV" Beta Launch!

We have been spending a lot of time lately on our network of various social sites (most of our Profiles can be found on Retaggr) and in re-designing our website www.palmspringsgreathomes.com. They are still works-in-progress, but we are eager for you to check out our progress and to ramp up our interaction with our friends on these destinations. This blog is also an important part of our online mosaic and we hope you subscribe and contribute.

IT’S PERSONAL

There are so very many stories to share from people in this Palm Springs area about their different types of encounters with life. Social media provides us all with an incredible opportunty to communicate and we will have permission from our friends to delve further into the good and sometimes challenging issues that arise. Needless to say, there’s been a prevailing theme lately. As you read about the resolve to beat the ravages of this economy, you’ll recognize stories similar to those of people you know, and maybe even some that reflect your own “travels”. In fact, please let us know whether you’d like to share your own experiences when you leave your comments. These anecdotes compel the decent people who write and read this blog to want to dig in, offer advice and help each other!

To complement our social media and blog posts, we are excited to launch our new “Love of the Desert TV” Channel on You Tube. Here you’ll see the entire gamut of professions and lifestyles in the Coachella Valley through the eyes of the local residents. Of course, we will be highlighting real estate by exploring and comparing the different cities, communities and amenities from golf and tennis developments to private gated enclaves. You’ll also enjoy visiting the desert’s array of social, recreation, cultural and charitable activities. We invite you to participate and to send your story ideas. And wait until you see the videos demonstrating new technology and how it provides unfair advantage to our clients!

While we ready our official launch next week, you can get a glimpse of the “Love of the Desert TV” Channel as it comes to life. We hope the patchwork of visuals succesfully underscore and convey our overarching theme: We understand the desert and we understand people. We’re here to help you buy and sell your Palm Springs area properties with more confidence and caring than you’ve probably ever experienced in real estate. “All You Need Is (Stephen and Greysha) Love” is the the new real estate model that facilitates rather than sells.

WHILE WE READY OUR CHANNEL

Have a look at these  following videos. This includes useful information from the IRS about the $8000 Homebuyer Tax Credit, which makes life a little easier for first time buyers if taken advantage of by the end of November (check back for reports about the possibility of an extension of time on the Tax Credit, as well as an increase in amount an availabilty to not only first time buyers). You’ll also see the latest statistics from the National Association of Realtors that point to a market turnaround. Our Coachella Valley sales numbers are particularly strong at certain pricepoints. While we are not at of the woods, it appears that we have begun a rebound. Many pundits believe that this market is a rare gift for both home buyers and sellers. We hear that time may be running out to take advantage of the tax credit and that now is the time to act! Many say: “There’s never been a better time!”; “Don’t miss out!”; “Make this the turning point of your life!” Let’s consider the derived benefits (versus feature) of low mortgage rates: The benefit to the buyer is much smaller mortgage payments, and mortgage payments that build equity versus being flushed on rent. What about another feature of this market: below-market value pricing? The benefit is obviously more value for the dollar. The seller also derives benefit of these programs as they motivate buyers, and the added benefit of also availing themselves of low interest rates and pricing as they become buyers.
